Mammadov Nurlan Gurban oglu is a 26-year-old sergeant who fought in the Second Karabakh War from September 27, 2020. During combat, he was seriously wounded after stepping on a mine during the assault operation in Jebrail and evacuated from the military zone after 14 hours of enemy fire. As a result, he underwent a difficult below-the-knee amputation. Unfortunately his wound did not recover, and his leg was operated on again, resulting in further amputation.
He is currently expecting a prosthesis from Germany, however, Nurlan's living conditions are extremely difficult. Nurlan lives in Tatli village of Aghstafa district with his family of five members, his father, mother, brother and sister-in-law. The family lives in a two-room house under difficult conditions. Nurlan's father is the only person supporting the family financially, which has resulted in significant hardship.
Nurlan always dreamed of serving in the military to protect his country so he attended a specialized military school. He fulfilled this dream and duty to his homeland with dignity and heroism. Unfortunately, Nurlan is now deprived of his future dreams due to his injury and financial hardship.
The United Charities for Azerbaijan will support Nurlan in his journey, helping to improve his living conditions and support his health. Helping Nurlan will be the first fundraiser for our foundation, and we are confident that the Azerbaijani diaspora in America will step up to support him and our homeland.
Your support and contributions will enable us to help veterans and families of the fallen soldiers in Azerbaijan.
