LETTER FROM OUR BOARD

Every country has moments that merit great national pride. Over time, these achievements meld into history, and new generations can proudly say, "this is my home." Azerbaijan’s victory in the Second Karabakh War is not only a bright spot in history for our nation, but also a source of pride that continues to grow stronger every day.

Months and years will pass, but as long as those who gave us this victory to our nation are alive, the 2020 Patriotic War cannot become history. If only because there are those who sacrificed their lives to keep our minds open and upright, and their families and relatives are alive. We shouted, "Soldier, don't look back!" and it is time to keep our word before their Spirits.

United Charities for Azerbaijan calls on all Azerbaijanis living in the United States to support the families of our veterans. What matters is not the amount of your financial assistance, but the participation of as many of our people as possible in this movement.

According to some estimates, 350,000 to 400,000 Azerbaijanis live in the United States. Unfortunately, the financial situation of most of them is not yet satisfactory. But we do not  consider it impossible for every Azerbaijani to donate at least $10 a month. Of course, there will be those who want to contribute more. But let's not forget that sustainability with a relatively small amount is more important than a large one-off amount. Our fellow citizens, those who sacrificed everything to liberate our motherland, must feel that our nation is always there to support them.

To join this cause, you can donate from our website. We plan to provide financial, in-kind, health, and any other needed assistance to our veterans who defended Azerbaijan and their families. We will post quarterly reports detailing how all funds have been spent.

Board members are elected by the UCA General Assembly once per year. Everyone has the opportunity to join UCA as a member and participate in the organization's policy-making and the election of Board members. Members are eligible for future Board representation.
